NOTICE OF ELECTION
CITY OF LAKEWOOD, COLORADO
NOTICE OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 2026
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF COLORADO REVISED STATUTES, SECTION 31-10-501 THAT A SPECIAL MAIL BALLOT ELECTION WILL BE HELD FOR THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, COUNTY OF JEFFERSON, STATE OF COLORADO, ON TUESDAY, APRIL 7, 2026.

The election will be conducted as an independent mail ballot election. Mail ballots were mailed to eligible electors between March 16, 2026, and March 23, 2026. Registered voters who are residents of the City of Lakewood are eligible to vote in the election.
 
With the exception of ballots returned from military/overseas voters, domestic ballots must be received no later than 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, April 7, 2026. Domestic ballots postmarked but not received by April 7, 2026, will not be counted.

REPLACEMENT BALLOTS:

A registered elector who does not receive a ballot in the mail or who loses, spoils or otherwise destroys their ballot may obtain a replacement ballot from the City Clerk’s Office during business hours through April 7, 2026.

Extended Hours on Election Day, Tuesday, April 7, 2026: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

The following ballot questions will be included on the ballot to be decided upon by the registered electors of the City of Lakewood:

QUESTION 1
Shall the City of Lakewood repeal Ordinance 2025-27, an ordinance amending the Lakewood Zoning Code by repealing and replacing Articles 6-14 of Title 17 of the Lakewood Municipal Code, including provisions concerning residential building and site design standards; institutional, mixed use, commercial, and light industrial building and site design standards; parking and loading standards; sign standards; wireless services and communications; historic preservation; nonconformities; sustainable development; and definitions and interpretations? 

YES (AGAINST THE ORDINANCE) 

NO   (FOR THE ORDINANCE)      

QUESTION 2

Shall the City of Lakewood repeal Ordinance 2025-28, an ordinance amending the Lakewood Zoning Code by repealing and replacing Articles 1, 2, 4 and 5 of Title 17 of the Lakewood Municipal Code, including provisions concerning the purpose and administration of the zoning code; procedures and appeals; use and supplemental standards; and dimensional and development standards?  

YES (AGAINST THE ORDINANCE) 

NO   (FOR THE ORDINANCE)

QUESTION 3

Shall the City of Lakewood repeal Ordinance 2025-29, an ordinance amending the Lakewood Zoning Code by repealing and replacing Article 3 of title 17 of the Lakewood Municipal Code, including provisions concerning the establishment of zone districts? 

YES (AGAINST THE ORDINANCE) 

NO   (FOR THE ORDINANCE) 

QUESTION 4

Shall the City of Lakewood repeal Ordinance 2025-30, an ordinance amending the Lakewood Zoning Code by repealing the existing zoning map, replacing it with the new zoning map, and rezoning properties thereby?

YES (AGAINST THE ORDINANCE) 

NO   (FOR THE ORDINANCE)
