Lakewood Hosts Active Adult Resource Fair in May

The City of Lakewood invites residents to celebrate Older Americans Month at the Active Adult Resource Fair on May 8 from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Charles Whitlock Recreation Center. This free event offers resources and services from more than 75 local vendors supporting the active adult community of those age 55-plus.

Stay active, try something new and connect with others at this event designed to link the community with available resources.  Explore a variety of health and lifestyle services, available from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

  • Fitness and wellness: Free demonstration classes and activities including Qigong, Tai Chi, Zumba.
  • Health and safety assessments: Blood pressure and biometric screenings. Balance tests conducted by personal trainers.
  • Community perks: Giveaways and special discounts from local vendors.

"We take great pride in the many wellness programs and resources we provide for our active adults," said Community Resources Director Traci Wieland. "We invite you to celebrate Older Americans Month with us by attending the Active Adult Resource Fair."
