Mayor launches "Team Love Lakewood" to inspire community volunteerism
April 28, 2026 - The City of Lakewood is making it easier than ever for residents to get involved and give back.
During her 2026 State of the City address, Wendi Strom announced the official launch of Team Love Lakewood, a new volunteer network designed to connect community members with meaningful opportunities to support the city they call home.
Rooted in this year’s State of the City theme, Together We Thrive, Team Love Lakewood reflects a simple but powerful idea: when neighbors come together, great things happen.
A New Way to Get Involved
Team Love Lakewood serves as a central hub for volunteer opportunities across the city, bringing together projects hosted by the City of Lakewood and local partner organizations. From community cleanups to helping neighbors in need, Team Love Lakewood will highlight a variety of ways for community members to get involved.
By removing barriers to volunteering and increasing awareness of available opportunities, the program aims to strengthen connections between neighbors while supporting important community priorities.
Stay Connected and Take Action
Residents are encouraged to join Team Love Lakewood and stay informed about upcoming volunteer opportunities through the program’s newsletter. Subscribers will receive regular updates on ways to get involved, upcoming events and projects happening throughout the city.
Whether you’re looking to make a difference, meet new people or simply give back, Team Love Lakewood offers a simple way to turn good intentions into action.
