Neighborhoods throughout Lakewood are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 4-9 p.m., residents in neighborhoods throughout Lakewood are encouraged spend the evening outside with their neighbors and communities. Many neighborhoods will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and other neighborhood watch events.
Neighborhood Get-Together Grant
Neighborhood groups participating in National Night Out are encouraged to apply for the Neighborhood Get-Together grant to potentially receive a small stipend ($100-$300) for event supplies. Visit the grant website for more information and to submit an application. If you have any questions, please contact Neighborhoods@LakewoodCO.gov or call (303) 987-7369.
Check with your neighborhood representative to see if there are any participating properties in your area.
