Simms Street and W. 8th Avenue signal Replacement
Project DescriptionSignal replacement at the intersection of W. 8th Avenue and Simms Street. The project will also include replacement of the curb ramps with directional ADA curb ramps, new storm sewer inlets, and small retaining walls.
May 2026 Update
Recently Completed WorkNew traffic signals have been installed at 3 of the 4 corners of the intersection, as well as the curb ramps and sidewalk on all of the corners and asphalt patching. The final traffic signal mast arm on the northeast corner will be replaced the week of May 4.
Current & Upcoming WorkOver the next several weeks, the contractor will complete general site cleanup. Also, the crosswalks and other pavement markings will be installed.
Traffic ImpactsCurrent traffic control includes single lane closures on each of the corners as work progresses during the daytime. No full roadway closures are anticipated as part of this work.
Target Project CompletionRemaining work elements will be completed in May.
