As required by the new Colorado State mandate, the City of Lakewood has now adopted the Wildfire Resiliency Code, effective October 21, 2026. This only applies to residences and businesses in the risk areas identified by Wildfire Urban Interface map who are interested in doing new projects or remodeling. Information is available on how to best protect your property going forward for any Lakewood residents in any and all areas. It’s up to each resident if they chose to increase the resiliency or make changes to their existing property.
